How this guide is made
Padel Rules explains the official rules of padel in plain language. It is not the FIP and does not replace the official text.
One source: the FIP rulebook
Every rule on this site comes from the Rules of Padel published by the International Padel Federation (FIP). The current edition applies from 1 January 2026 and was approved on 28 November 2025. Next to each statement you will see a tag such as Rule 13 (r), which points to the rule in that document.
We write the rules in our own words. If our wording and the FIP text ever differ, the FIP text wins.
How we keep it current
- We monitor the FIP documents page and the main national federations every week.
- When a new edition or clarification appears, we update the affected pages and add an entry to the change log below.
- Every page shows the date it was last checked against the rulebook.
Change log
- Site launched. All pages checked against the FIP Rules of Padel, edition applied from 1 January 2026.
Independence and sponsor
Padel Rules is free to read. It is supported by Rekova, a padel recovery supplement brand. Sponsorship pays for writing and checking. Rekova does not write or approve the rules content, and sponsor messages are always marked as such.
